Shinjite

Story:
The world is forever enduring. It has survived harsh circumstances throughout thousands of years, but unfortunately, its inhabitants are not also invulnerable. In the year 2500 AD, the walkers of the earth were content, never having need to understand the full extent of their vulnerability. However, in the short years to come the peaceful people of the three realms encountered many alarming changes. Monsters appeared in a world once thought to be entirely cleansed. Rumours of treason circulated amongst the people. War bands were lead against those accused, against those that were once allies. The three rulers desperately seek the key to peace, stopping at almost nothing to acquire it. The key, an object of legend past down through the years, is the only thing that can restore peace to the distraught earth. However, the key does not understand good or evil and does what is required by its owner. If it falls into the wrong hands, the destruction of the world will soon fall with it. It is now 2507 and time is killing all.

Years after the war began a prodigy was born to the world, a being half soulless, half angel. She was abandoned on a doorstep in Tiyan, and was taken in by the owners of the house. They named her Kaze Umi, or wind of the ocean. She excelled in the art of magic, and showed her intelligence in many areas. She also dominated the battlefield, few could best her fighting skills. Though she was content with her life, she felt as if something was missing. She longed to know who her parents were and what purpose she served in the world. Kaze embarked on an adventure, hoping to acquire this information. Upon her arduous journey, in a forgotten town in Tiyan, Kaze stumbled upon an old man masquerading as a beggar. As she stooped to drop her few gald pieces into his outstretched hand, she was seized by the wrist. The beggar pulled her face towards her and uttered a single word. It was an order to follow his movements. The man rose, dragging Kaze with him, and glanced around furtively. Deciding that they were not being observed, the elderly beggar dug his nails into the wooden wall of a rundown building. Using his weight, the man slid the door open. His task complete, he ushered the young woman into the dank room. Once inside, the supposed beggar explains his actions, as well as his name, Valin. In fact, Valin was an old mage. The only one in possession of a prophecy believed to be lost. It read as so:

Borne on wings of the dead,
though embodied with the hope of 1000 souls
Carried by the wind above an ocean of dread,
the Vehicle of peace reignites the coals
Remnants of the fire that once linked all.

The death throes of an angel bring new hope to the world...
The child of a monster steals the breath of life...

our Vehicle is born

Valin explained that the lost prophecy depicted her in its verses. She was the vehicle of peace described in the prognostication. However, he explained, she would never be able to accomplish the goal alone. She would need help from a select others. Kaze was urged to choose those who are intelligent, strong, decisive, headstrong, loyal and quick. Before she left, Valin, a strange look of omniscience gracing his face, whispered a single word to her, ‘believe’. Ensuing this peculiar utterance the old man shimmered as if ethereal and dissipated. Stunned, Kaze remained in the same position. Piercing blue eyes fixed on the floor where the old man was, but a second ago, standing. A clatter from farther off in the room brought Kaze from her thoughts. Deciding it was time to leave, Kaze departed from the building, feeling completely bewildered. Believing that indecision would do her no good, Kaze set off in search of the people who were to aid her on this quest. They will have to battle the monsters that have mysteriously appeared on the earth, and the armies of the invading nations while searching for the key to peace among the realms. If they do not succeed, the three races will bring the destruction of the earth.

Races:

Angel - The angels are an ancient race, dating back to the creation of the world. They usually have wings, but occasionally an angel is born without wings. They have pointed ears, and are intelligent creatures who excel especially in magic. They can be a little egotistical and believe they are superior to all other beings. They are lead by Lord Yggdrasil, inhabiting the realm called Cearyn.

Human - Though the human race is not as old as the angels they are still highly evolved. They are equally balanced between magic and fighting skills. They are modest creatures but are often fighting amongst themselves. The humans are lead by Lady Nero and live in the realm of Tiyan.

Soulless - The Soulless are also an ancient race, who take pleasure in ending others' lives. Their eyes are possessed of an empty quality and they have very sharp fangs. The Soulless have the ability to regenerate overnight, as such, losing a limb is not a hindering complication. Altogether, they are hostile and thrive on battle and plundering. The soulless are ruled by Lord Aerion in Urythium.

Realms:

Cearyn - This is the realm of the angels, as it is floating in the sky. The beautiful country is under the rule of Lord Yggdrasil. It is kept afloat by the soul of the ancient goddess Illyria, who was defeated by Yggdrasil and contained in the centre of the nation. It is in laymen's terms, a castle in the sky. Though a castle, the realm consists of many towns and cities, each with their own beliefs and traditions.

Tiyan - The realm of the humans. It is located on the surface of the earth. The country consists of many passageways connecting to different cities. However, there are many open fields and small forests where small towns flourish. There are a number farms surrounding the nation, for it is their only source of nourishment Beyond the farms, Tiyan is encircled by vast seas of forest. This nation is ruled by the gracious but fierce Lady Nero.

Urythium - The realm of the soulless. It is a dark place not just because it is located underground but also because those who live there make it to be so. The soulless receive their nourishment from the many underground channels of water and the strange fruits that grow beneath the surface. It consists of vast underground tunnels adjoining the different sections of the largest of the three nations. Ruled by the greedy Lord Aerion, the soulless race has become hostile and fierce.
